Our Learning In Action
Each classroom is connected to parents via Seesaw and Blogger. This is the best way for you to keep in touch with what is going on at Hinds School in your childs classroom. If you need help setting this up, please get in touch with your classroom teacher.

We are currently developing a new format for sharing our learning, but in the meantime be sure to check out regular updates on Blogger and Seesaw.

Learning at Hinds

Hinds School has identified foundation learning competencies that will nurture the holistic development of each individual.  These competencies will be an integral part of our school’s practice and are guided by our school vision, the NZ curriculum principles, values, key competencies and effective pedagogy.  These foundation competencies will be integrated across the curriculum, evident in planning, teaching practice and assessment.  They will be reflected in the living culture in our school learning community.

Hauora - Looking after the mental, emotional,spiritual, physical health and wellbeing

Manaakitanga - Relationships - Caring for students as culturally located individuals

Ako - Reciprocal Learning - Range of strategies to facilitate learning in a secure and well managed learning environment, effective learning interactions (wānanga)
